My Funny Valentine.

February 15, 2011

For a single ladyy, my valentines was pretty great. It started off like any other with a bowl of oats:)

Mmmm….

Then I went for a run. I decided to do a long distance jog instead of intervals, I just like it better that way. It was so windy, and the ocean was going crazy! For whatever reason, I thought running on the pier with all the water splashing over the railings was a great idea…it was fun, until I was running back and my shoes were sopping wet. Actually it wasn’t that bad….it was diy resistance training:D

After that run I needed some fuel….

Banana-Coconut Hearts (adapted from Emma
1 Banana
2 Tbsp Artisana Coconut Butter
2 1/2 Tbsp Oats
1 Tbsp Shredded Coconut
Mix everything but the shredded coconut together, roll into balls, and then form into hearts (you don’t have to do that but I was being festive!)

After that I went to work on J’s valentines gift….it wasn’t going to make itself! I really should have started it last week but I didn’t. Oh well, I was feeling creative yesterday anyways, which brought me to:

Burning Love Spicy Teriyaki Tofu

(long but very awesome name)
1/2 Block Firm Tofu
1/2 C Soy Sauce
Cayenne Pepper
Red Pepper Flakes
Pinch Salt

Cut the tofu into strips and lay into plastic container. Soy Sauce, some Cayenne Pepper, and some Red Pepper Flakes, along with the salt. Set in the fridge to let it soak overnight.
Take the tofu and place in the broiler for 10 minutes or until brown.
Let cool a bit then cut into hearts and sprinkle with more Red Pepper Flakes!

I served it with Katies Girl meets Grill Veggies

After that I went back to work on J’s valentines gift..I began to get a craving for a smoothie. It was pouring outside but it just sounded sooo yum. So I put my wellies on, tossed on my raincoat, and walked to the smoothie store thats only just down the hill. IT WAS CLOSED! What? How was I going to get my smoothie? I then began a mad quest for some quarters so I could get on muni. I finally found 2 dollars worth, and I was off. One problem…I forgot where exactly this place was and I ended up walking around for a half an hour. Thank goodness for wellies…

I finally was about to give up when I remembered safeway was a few blocks away. I got to safeway, got some Naked Red Monster and some frozen berries, then headed back to the bus stop.
An hour and 15 minutes later, I was back in my toasty apartment and went to work on my smoothie. Was it worth it? YES IT WAS!

Craving Satisfied.
I ate it with some yummy brown rice too.

After that I needed to speed through the rest of J’s gift/card. I only had 20 minutes left before he was going to be at my house! I managed to get it done…and I’m pretty happy with the results

😀
J got here and presented me with a rose and some boxed wine. What a romantic, haha.
I gave him my card and we had a glass of wine. Not gonna lie, I hardly ever drink. That one glass made me feel a little tipsy. J and J Bunny then made plans to go out after. They are both over 21, I am not. Lame.

Off to the pillow fight we went. On the way we picked up two of J’s friends. Nate and this girl I-can’t-remembers-name. Nate was really nice and so was the girl. J is interested in her and this is the first time we have met. I approve.

Pillow fight!

The night ended with crawling into bed and them going out to party.
It was a good day…this morning was interesting though.
I woke up and J & J Bunny were cuddling in her bed. Raise your hand if you feel really awkward right now (psst…..I’m raising my hand!)

How was your valentines day?
